My introduction into the design world wasn’t through a common route, as I spent the first 25 years of my career as a university administrator. Surprisingly, it was there I discovered my passion for how design can impact the human experience, and become so obsessed that I even researched the topic for my doctoral dissertation. After leaving higher ed, I attended Kami Gray’s brilliant Psychologie of Home design school where my new dream of starting an interior design business came to life. Since that time I have loved experiencing all the ways newly-designed environments are changing lives and helping achieve goals. Partnering with Sara has been an added bonus as our ideas are always better together and we have so much fun together while we’re at it!

Outside of work, I love spending time with my 3 awesome teens, volunteering at my kids’ schools (where Sara & I met!), hosting fascinating guests in our AirBnB, gardening with my mom, renovating our 1911 fixer upper with my hubs, or spending as much time as possible exploring my neighborhood & all corners of Portland.

I have always loved design, color and texture. In my past world, I owned a brick and mortar business selling beads. Helping customers with their jewelry designs and being in a creative environment fueled my soul. I’ve worked for non-profits and an all girls high school. I am consistently changing elements in my own house or doing “fix-it” tasks for neighbors and friends. Painting is my therapy. Bringing life to a curbside find or restoring an old dresser found stashed away is thrilling - anything can be brought back to life with a coat of paint!

When I am not painting, I am enjoying time with my family, or volunteering at my daughter’s school. I love backpacking, biking, moving dirt around in the garden, woodworking and traveling. I am a self proclaimed “sophisticated hippie” and so excited to be working with Kim on this biz adventure. Let’s bring your ideas to life in our wonderful city, PDX. Oh, and my teenager daughter is the artist behind our logo!
